Urban sites do not forgive poor planning. We walk every lot before equipment arrives, going through grade, drainage, and what every trade coming behind us will need. Josh and Brian both come from foundation work, which means we plan from the foundation up, not just the dirt out.
We work in Duluth, Superior, Proctor, Two Harbors, Hermantown, Ashland, and Cloquet. Bonded and licensed in Minnesota and Wisconsin. Same crew on every job from first cut to final grade.
Every job follows the same sequence. Nothing gets skipped.
We meet with the foundation contractor on site before any equipment is scheduled. Grade, drainage, and trade sequencing are all walked through together.
We assess the existing grade and identify where water moves on the lot. Drainage planning happens before the first bucket of dirt moves.
The lot is graded to rough plan, clearing debris, vegetation, and anything that would interfere with the foundation work.
We coordinate with utility locates and handle rough utility prep so the foundation crew is not waiting on conflicts.
We bring the site to finished grade and walk through the handoff with the foundation crew. They get what they need, when they need it.
We are on the approved lists for the builders who move the most projects in Duluth and Superior.
ProCon handles commercial and multi-unit construction across the Twin Ports. We handle their site prep and excavation work.
Lagom Home Builders builds custom homes throughout Duluth. We are their excavation and site prep crew for new construction starts.
Site prep includes rough and fine grading, drainage planning, utility coordination, and getting the lot ready for the foundation crew. We also do the pre-job walkthrough with your foundation contractor so nothing is missed before we start.
Yes. That is part of how we work. We require a pre-job site visit with the foundation contractor before any equipment is scheduled. Grade, drainage, and trade sequencing are all worked out together before a machine moves.
It depends on the lot size and conditions. Most residential site prep jobs in Duluth and Superior take one to three days. We can give you a more accurate timeline after a site visit.
Permits are required for some site work, especially if it involves utility connections or grading changes near stormwater systems. We pull the permits and handle city coordination so you do not have to.
